<dir> element is used for specifying a directory list. This is very similar to <ul> tag but now this is deprecated.
This element has been removed in HTML5. Use <ul> element or CSS instead.
The following table shows the attributes that are specific to the
|compact||Not supported in HTML5.
This Boolean attribute hints that the list should be rendered in a compact style. The interpretation of this attribute depends on the user agent and it doesn't work in all browsers
