CSS border-image Property

The border-image property lets you draw an image in place of an element's border-style.

The border-image property is a shorthand that sets the following properties in a single declaration:

Note: If any property listed above is missing or omitted, the default value for that property will be applied, if any.

Property Values

The following table describes the values of border-image property:

border-image-source Specifies the location of the image to be used for the border
border-image-slice Specifies the inward offsets from the top, right, bottom, and left edges of the border image
border-image-width Specifies the width of the border
border-image-outset Specifies the amount by which the border image area extends beyond the border box
border-image-repeat Specifies whether the border image should be repeated, rounded or stretched
initial Sets this property to its default value
inherit Inherits this property from its parent element
